TERMS AND CONDITIONS: COUCHBASE CONNECT SILICON VALLEY SWEEPSTAKES PROMOTION

1. Eligibility: This promotion (“Promotion”) is open to UK residents aged 18 or over, excluding employees of Couchbase Limited (“the Promoter”), their families, or agents, businesses or anyone else professionally connected with this Promotion. Entrants must be opted-in to receive marketing communications from Couchbase at the Closing Date.
2. Promotion Period: Enter between 00.01 GMT on 10 May 2018 (“Opening Date”) and 11:59 GMT on 1 August 2018 (“Closing Date”).
3. No purchase necessary. Entry is made online, internet access is required.
4. To Enter: Input and submit details via the online form.
5. Prizes:
1. Grand prize: a trip for two (Winner plus 1 guest) to Silicon Valley for the Couchbase Connect SV event in September 2018, including:
1. Round-trip airfare from London to San Francisco
2. Chauffeured transport between the airport and hotel
3. 2 rooms for 3 nights accommodation
4. Free passes to the main conference at Connect SV (18-19 September 2018)
5. $1,000 USD spending money for both you and your guest
2. Runners Up Prize: a pair of Sonos wireless speakers.
3. 2nd Runners Up Prize: a £250 travel voucher.
6. The prizes are non-transferable and non-exchangeable. Preferred travel routes, carriers, and accommodation cannot be guaranteed but alternatives will be provided wherever possible.
7. In the event of unforeseen circumstances the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for an alternative of equal or greater value.
8. Entrants may not submit multiple entries per person, one entry is permitted per person. Any duplicate, 3rd party, or scripted entries may result in suspension or disqualification.
9. Winner Selection: A Winner, and two Runners Up will be selected via a verifiably random mechanism following the Closing Date.
10. Winner Notification: The Winner and Runners Up will be contacted via the phone number entered within two days of the Closing Date, and the Winner and Runners Up will be required to respond to accept the prize and provide details within 7 days of initial contact. If respondents refuse their prize or fail to respond after this time, new Winners or Runners Up will be drawn and contacted.
11. Prize Delivery: In order to facilitate booking and prize fulfilment, entrants may be required to provide personal information (such as passport information for travel booking, bank details for cash transfer, address details for delivery). Refusal to provide necessary information or undue delay in providing necessary information may invalidate prize fulfilment due to time sensitivity. It is the Winner’s responsibility to ensure travelers may legally enter the United States, have an up-to-date visa or entry permissions and documentation, and all necessary insurance provisions (none of which are provided by the Promoter).
12. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the eligibility of entrants. The Promoter may require such information as it considers reasonably necessary for this purpose and a prize may be withheld unless and until the Promoter is satisfied with the verification.
13. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant it reasonably believes is attempting to fraudulently enter, cheat, or compromise the system either by technical means (e.g., scripting or automation), or manual means (e.g., creation of multiple accounts per entrant).
14. No responsibility is accepted for entries lost, damaged or delayed or as a result of any network, computer hardware or software failure of any kind. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of receipt.
15. Entrants agree that personal data shall be collected and processed by the Promoter, stored on the Promoter’s database and used for the administration of its ongoing relationship with participants and in connection with the Promotion. Entrants may receive marketing communications via email if they have opted in to receive them, and may unsubscribe to these emails. 16. The Promoter cannot accept any responsibility for any damage, loss or injury suffered by any entrant entering the Promotion or as a result of accepting or participating in any Prize. Nothing shall exclude the Promoter’s liability for death or personal injury as a result of its negligence.
17. If for any reason the Promotion is not capable of running as planned for reasons including but not limited to tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Promotion, the Promoter reserves the right (subject to any written directions given under applicable law) to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process and to terminate, modify or suspend the Promotion.
18. If an act, omission, event or circumstance occurs which is beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter and prevents the Promoter from complying with these terms and conditions, the Promoter will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligation.
19. The Winner and Runners Up will be required to participate in any reasonable publicity arising from the Promotion.
20. The names of the Winners and Runners Up will be available on request by emailing [email protected] from 7 days after the closing date.
21. By entering this Promotion, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by these terms and conditions.
22. The Promoter’s decisions are binding in all matters relating to this Promotion, and no correspondence shall be entered into.
23. The terms and conditions of this Promotion shall be interpreted and applied on the basis of English Law and the Courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
